My Internship at Froehling Anderson

I’m 11 weeks into my internship at Froehling Anderson and I still remember my first day like it was yesterday. My first days began with meeting everyone and numerous training sessions. The information just kept coming.  I remember thinking: WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, slow down!  But everyone at the firm is not only friendly, but is patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to help out a person in need.  I am lucky to have landed at this firm.

Now it’s busy season with deadlines to meet. And so far I’ve been provided the opportunity to assist in the audit process, prepare corporate returns, and I am currently preparing individual returns. It can be stressful. But the firm always finds time to shake off the stress and relax. Froehling has luncheons, bingo, group games and March Madness brackets; they even had a massage therapist come in to give back massages. It feels good to be at a firm that cares about my well-being.

I came into my internship as a ‘clueless’ college student with little to no experience in the professional accounting world. Now after being with Froehling Anderson for only 11 weeks I have gained such a vast array of new knowledge. I see the passion that all of my co-workers put into their work and it’s contagious. My respect for the field of accounting and the people in it has only grown since beginning my internship in January. Public accounting is challenging and I can’t wait to see where my career takes me.
